SMSgt Stephen Richards

I am particularly proud to present SMSgt Stephen Richards as Command NCO for the West Virginia Wing. He was appointed during a ceremony held at the West Virginia Wing Summer Encampment Graduation on 22 June 2024. The Mid-Atlantic Region Command Chief, Marco Soave assisted in the appointment.  As Command NCO Richards serves as the primary advisor to the Commander on matters concerning mission effectiveness as well as the professional development, training, and utilization of the Wing’s NCOs. His additional duties are to observe and report on the performance of the squadrons within the Wing.

Richards retired from the US Air Force as a Senior NCO with a primary focus on education, discipline, and regulations.  Richards has earned the prestigious Gill Robb Wilson Award by completing Level V of the Education and Training Program, the highest education and training award earned by a senior member.  He is also a Volunteer University Instructor. Additionally, Richards has served as squadron commander, testing officer, and safety officer.
